The Designer Lives!

The Protected Planet

Earth is the only planet we know about that has any living things on it. Doesn't that seem a little strange to you? How many times have you gone out at night and took a few moments to look at a full moon. War zones are often described as "moonscapes". To look at our moon is to look at a "war zone".

How did it get that way? Space is filled with all sorts of rocks, boulders, pieces of planets, moons, asteroids, comets and stuff. It's all moving in some direction. Sometimes the moon gets in the way and whammo! That's how all those craters formed. To be able to see one of those craters from earth means that it was a huge and devastating impact and explosion that took place at some time.

We are told that a large asteroid hitting the earth would cause an ecological disaster. Several such events could spell doom to the entire ecosystem. Massive worldwide fires and explosions could have lowered the oxygen content of the atmosphere suffocating animal life. All the heat generated, the poisonous gasses filling the atmosphere, the violent weather and so on would kill everything and leave the planet in a state no longer able to sustain life.

The moon gives us clear evidence of the history of great objects from space crashing into it time and time again. Shouldn't at least as many, or even more such object have slammed into our planet?

Why Not Us?

Earth looks very different from the moon. There are only a few places where we have identified large impact craters. There aren't thousands of huge "meteor impact" craters scattered everywhere you look. So, why is the earth different?

1. the atmosphere: our planet is protected from being hit by small objects, perhaps up to 1 meter in diameter or so. The atmosphere can generate enough heat to melt such a fast moving object and cause it to burn up or vaporise.

2. luck: not a very realistic option!

3. intervention: some"thing" or someone is "looking out for us". Most large objects are not allowed to hit earth. Why is this and who is responsible.

Each of us can put our faith in one of these conclusions or perhaps there are some other possible explanations.

If you see life on earth as the planning and hard meticulous work of a "Designer", the reason for earth's lack of a moonscape is obvious. Someone is just protecting His investment.

Some may insist that nature created itself -as public schools are forced to teach these days. Who, then is responsible for defending this planet?

But, Who?

It would take someone that didn't have all our human limitations. You could put all the "superheros" you could think of together and still not be able to account for such power. Someone with mastery over all the forces of nature and not afraid of tackling big problems. Someone with complete understanding of the intracacies of living systems and the resources to bring them into being.

About 2000 years ago a man stepped into our world and healed a man born blind, walked on water, converted plain water into wine, brought a man that was dead 3 days with rigor mortis and bodily decay setting in back to life as a normal healthy man, speak to a storm and have it obey Him. This man, Jesus, the carpenter's adopted son of Nazereth, was the Designer entering into human existence for the purpose of saving humanity from the consequences of our selfishness and irreverence for Him.

Our ancestors nailed his hands and feet to a cross made of rough dirty wood because of pride. That was part of His plan, too. The event forever demonstrated the depth of human depravity and helplessness to overcome selfishness without help from the One that put us here.

After the deed was done and Jesus was rendered a lifeless body, He once again made a human live again, His own body came back to life with health and vitality except the scars from human cruelty. I know for sure that the "Designer lives and we can know Him from the record we have of the life and works of Jesus from Nazareth.
