Tiny Insects

This morning there’s been a VERY tiny insect walking around on my computer monitor screen. Even though its so tiny, its able to fly from spot to spot. Probably attracted to the light like so many bugs outside at the lights.

As far as size goes, maybe 1.5mm in length. Think of how tiny its brain must be. Maybe composed of 1000 cells or so?? The eyes of most insects are faceted compound eyes. So, i would guess each facet may have just a few cells. What about the wings and their muscles?

Watching it move around and considering that it has 6 legs and antennae like other insects. It moves rather quickly and smoothly for its size.

It’s difficult to appreciate a creature of this size. Could you breathe them in all day long and not even sneeze? Who knows? One thing I can tell you! It’s an engineering marvel of the highest order! A completely functional, thriving insect at a dust particle scale!
