US public tv has been running a series of new shows about the universe. It chronicles the “advances” in our understanding of the universe. The “big bang”, the Hubble Telescope, “dark energy” and “dark matter” and stuff like that. First there was the “red shift” and the “expanding universe”, then there was the “big bang idea”, then the establishment for the “age” of the universe at “13.7 Billion Years” based on the supposed accelleration of objects out there and so forth.

They make is sound as if everything has been figured out! The wonderful achievements of man with celebrations and award ceremonies! Now, there are the challenges of “dark energy and dark matter” to tackle. The space telescope has revealed a vast and complex universe most of which is a visual artifact from many millions of years in the past. We have no way of actually telling if any of it is still really there if it’s much further out past our own little galaxy, the “Milky Way”.

In fact, we have only just recently managed to send a probe out beyond this tiny solar system. We think we know so much about the universe and yet as this lonely probe leaves our solar system into open space there is bated breath waiting to find out what open space is really like. So, what’s just outside of our solar system is still a mystery. That might only be a few “light hours” away. So, how much do we REALLY know about these phantoms that we see in the night sky. So many of which existed million and even billions of years ago if they are right about that. For all we know, they may have been removed long ago leaving a visual record a long stream of radiation that could run out at any moment.

Science is a game of educated guessing and NOTHING MORE! The fundamental rule of modern science is, “seeing is believing”. A sort of “photon-based” reality show based on fringe ideas that grab our imaginations. Just like so many scifi shows that paint a loosly “science” based picture of space, the future, etc. But, never seem to touch on financial accountability. How even crude space flight programs like the space shuttle can bring NASA to it’s knees.

Jesus worked long and hard to cultivate a place for mankind to be introduced. He knew full well the price He would have to pay for His efforts and hard work to give us a place that we could enjoy and hopefully appreciate. Maybe you find it hard to believe. But, that won’t make it any less true. Reality is reality.

In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made for Him and by Him. Without Him was not anything made that was made. He came to His own and His own received Him not. But, to as many as received Him He gave them power to become the sons of God. Even to as many as believed on His Name. (The Book of John chapter one)

How did science become an antichristian movement? The story is a complex one and I don’t fully understand it. But, there are a few important key players in it’s fall from integrity and usefulness. As far as the role evolutionism has played, there are 2 key figures. Thomas Huxley was a strong proponent of “secularizing” science and a contemporary of the other, namely Charles Darwin.

Huxley got a band of his supporters together and formed the “X-Group”. They would get together every fortnight for dinner at a resturant and discuss how they could eliminate any influence that Christianity might have on the pursuit of science. He hoped that through this activism that he could “free” science to become a more profitable profession and increase their status in the community as the new interpreters of the mysteries of the universe, or as they put it, permit more freedom in the flow of ideas.

One source of irritation for them was the so called, “fixity of species” interpretation of the Biblical reference to how living things are to “reproduce after their kind”. Of course, there really is no need to veiw “kind” as a synonym for “species”. (But, as it would turn out, species would come to be defined as a “interbreeding group” anyway.)

Tom and his buds were looking for some way to drive a wedge between the emerging scientific elitists to get them to push out all humble Bible-believing Christian (“religious”) influence from the “scientific community”. Along came this pigeon breeder and amateur naturalist by the name of Charles Darwin. Darwin was convinced that creatures could adapt and change after many generations to the extent that new species could form in ways similar to the way new breeds of pigeons and plants could be produced by selective breeding.

Huxley saw problems with Darwin’s ideas. He didn’t agree with “natural selection” for one. But, he thought that Darwin could be useful to him as a pawn in his pursuit of the secularization of science. Darwin had a complete atheistic creation story that if it was published could raise science to the elite position that Huxley lusted for.

Since it is know that Huxley dissagreed with Darwin’s fundamental thesis, but sought to capitalize on Darwin’s credibility and the political power in Darwin’s ideology to achieve his personal goals and that of the X-Group, we must view Evolution as a hoax. About this same time a Monk by the name of Mendel was about to reveal some things about inheritence of traits that would have further devestated Darwins simplistic creation story by showing how variability is actually passed on from generation to generation.

However, there were some things about Darwin’s “evolution” that helped it gain popularity.

!. It supported the “white supremist” mentality of the time. Many of the new scientific elite were slaveholders and Darwins’ view that there were “favored races” was appealing to them.

2. Most Christian pastors and clergy didn’t have a strong background in the natural sciences and so they suck to their guns and used scripture to stave off the attacks against their understanding of creation. This only goaded the superiority complex emerging among the X-group and the science elitists.

3. The blasphemous nature of evolutionism pits those that declare and teach it against their own Maker alienating them from the Spirit of Truth, who is Christ Himself. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and only He can prevent us from believing hoaxes like Huxley’s.

Today, Darwin’s ideas have pretty well been debunked and are now just propped up as “neo-darwinism”. Mendel’s revolution with the new discipline known as, “genetics” has completely overshadowed Darwin’s niave creation story. But, sadly, the break from Christianity has been made and continues to be enforced within the ranks of science. The science elite know that if they allow Christianity back in, that evolutionism will loose it’s appeal and their political power and prestige will be shaken.

In the process of keeping a close eye on the developments regarding the push to institute evolutionism as the state religion in the US, it’s becoming more evident that the real driving force behind the movement is a desire within the scientific community to purge itself of inferior (less evolved) men and women. Those that they label as, “antiscience” officially, and many other less kind things more or less off the record. Not only do they wish to purge their own ranks of all Darwin doubters, but also to infect polititians with their ideologies and establish legislative measures that will prevent any dissention in public education. And, then to further help establish the sci-elite and help further man’s “ascent” to greater intellectual height, culling of inferior humanity through “abortion on demond” must be protected at all cost. Of course this is all supposed to be for the “good of humanity”!

The Book of Revelations, the last book in the New Testament of the Bible, teaches us about how that in the last days of man’s tenure on this planet, that there will be a last stand where the enemies of God and His Son, Jesus of Nazareth and all those who trust Him as their Savior. Through the years since the Lord Jesus’ resurrection, there has been a constant string of suspects as to who would be the seductive and yet abonimable leader of the antichristian movement in those last days.

For many, it was the Pope, others the president at the time, to others it was some powerful European leader or dictator. The problem with all that, is that they only have limited power and resources. What power has had the ability to create devices capable of erasing humanity from the face of the earth? What power has had the ability to train a society to receive annual injections of protect us from, “the flu”? That’s weird, after all we do have an immune system. Do those in the “scientific elite” also get them?? Why has this segment of our society spent 10′s of billions of dollars in order to build a 17 mile long machine just to “test theories” by cracking open protons???? Is it to bring more glory to their antichristian cause? Is the great investment in NASA really to explore space, or to find “the building blocks of life on other planets” in the hopes to once and for all dash and sentiments that we are created beings and establish evolutionism as THE faith.

Consider this, is it any coincidence that the “scientific elite” has fingered Bible- believing Christians as those who are their biggest threat and labels them as “antiscience”. Is that, shall we say, a Fruedian slip? So, if Christians are “antiscience”, what does that make science?

My suggestion to all those Christian considering going into science. Don’t bother! If you already are in it’s ranks, bail out while you can. Your Creator has better things for you. Ask Him to reveal His plan for your career and future.

What is “evolutionism”? It’s the practice of  ignoring the reality that the true God of the Universe has created all things and replacing that with a false god referred to as “evolution”. Evolutionism is strange form of unintelligent natural creationism. The modern form of an old superstition that nature has in some way created itself. Therefore “evolutionism” is just a resurrection of  the dubious notion of “spontaneous generation”. However, in this new version of that concept, science is heralded, or should I say, blamed for this delusion.

This practice couldn’t have been much more poignantly clear to me than when I watched as the popular preacher of evolutionism, Richard Dawkins, declared glibly in a recent “Nova” TV show, that evolution did this as he stood alongside the enormous toothy jawbone of a sperm whale that’s on exhibit at a museum. That announcement came after a fascinating dissection of a real beached adult sperm whale. The point of the dissection of the “world’s largest living predator” was to display it’s wonderful design and how it is able to dive to the deepest parts of the ocean on a breath of air and feast on squid that it finds using its wonderfully sophisticated form of sonar.

Mr. Dawkins almost in the same breath qoutes a passage from the Bible from the book of Job that describes a creature in many ways like the sperm whale.(Dawkins makes no effort to inform the viewer that the context of the passage was that the Creator was asking Job where he was when God was designing His universe and placing all of His wonderfully made creatures on the earth.)

There is another reference to this amazing creature in Psalms:
Psalms 104:24-35
“ O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good. Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works. He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke. I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD. Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.”

So, is Mr. Dawkins suddenly honoring the Bible as the Creator’s guide to His truth, or as an ”interesting” piece of ancient “literature”? The more I read the Bible, the more I’m impressed by its power in revealing the reality of our real Creator’s wisdom, grace and majesty.  All of these concepts are totally foreign to “evolutionism” and those that preach it.

When I was still a university student way back in the late 70′s I was active in the Creationist Movement. Most of the folks took the young earth position and so that was to become the more or less official position for the groups active then and it seems to still hold true today.

Personally, I don’t think that accepting an old earth view helps Darwinism or really is the least unfriendly to the Biblical record of how things started. Certainly, if the earth was only 6,000 years old, that would put a damper on the amount of change that adaptation could produce. But, given the amount of pressure that exists for genetic conformity in nature (IE the “reversion to wilds rule” or mutants practically never make the cut), no amount of time really is ever going to be enough to enable “natural selection” or natural breeding to design anything resembling even the “primitive” forms of life we see today.

Breeders work hard to keep a gene pool healthy reducing inbreeding as much as possible and still maintain desired characteristics. Even so the percentage of healthy animals is notoriously low in such “purebreds”. But, this is supposedly the very thing that “drives” evolution. Isolated populations like Darwin’s examples from the Galapagos Isles and such can tax adaptive abilities and showcase what it can do. But, if those kinds of changes are some of the best examples of adaptive change they aren’t very impressive. So, I wouldn’t place too much confidence in adaptation doing much at all in much less extreme, should I say, “typical” conditions.

Information doesn’t just happen and it takes LOTS of information encoding into DNA or RNA to make living things work. Evolution without intelligent guidance, or “intelligent design” requires that all living things MUST have been designed (their DNA encoded) by random or spontaneous events (AKA accidental mutations) This is the fiercely protected dogma of the scientific establishment currently.

But, a problem arises when you try to say that “evolution” cannot depend on any form of intelligence in any way. In computers, it’s no accident that programmers (those that write the code) also have higher IQ’s then the general population. But, somehow in biology, we are expected to believe that the opposite is true. Why is this so? Because, if you connect intelligence in any way with the code in living things, you no longer NEED evolution to explain it all.

Evolution attempts to give a Creator-less world-view credibility. But, evolution pushes simple adaptation to write the most complex and effective codes known without any source of intelligence whatsoever. To deny intelligent design is to deny the code in place in all living things. To accept intelligent design in nature in any way is to render evolution impotent. Evolution reverts back to simple adaptation and mutants remain mutants, better that they stay out of the mix.

Like it or not, everybody has some sort of religious beliefs. Whether we go to a place of worship or not, we all have some ideas about where we came from and what happens when we die. For most people in the world, their ideas and faith are misplaced and don’t match reality. They go through life with little understanding of the purpose of their existence or answers to the bigger questions.

The simple truth is that we all have a Creator who has put us here and who will choose our destiny. The Creator has been revealed to us in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” and He also calls Himself the, “Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” “All things were created for Him and by Him” If these truths aren’t central to your faith or religion, your religion is not based on reality and is likely worthless. I’m confident, though that each of us has a spark of curiosity or interest at some level in finding the answer to how we got here and why.

When it comes to your Creator, Jesus, you can run but you cannot hide! You can act as though He doesn’t exist, but He is more real than we are! If you want to find out what real love is, read His book, the Bible. The Book of John is a good place to start, “

John 1:1-18
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came to his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them He gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that comes after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

Science has gone off course and is sailing onto the rocks. If that’s what you’re putting your faith in, you’re in for a rude awakening. The One that made you has better plans

If you want to understand this universe that we live in, you must first set aside any notions about the so-called, “big bang” myth and all that. Any attempt to explain the creation of the universe and us without acknowledging the One behind it all is a total waist of time and energy.

Remember, asserting that there isn’t a person behind all of this will never make Him go away! It will only come back to haunt you as the immensity and power of His being confronts you in the end. I hope any who fail to admit this reality and worse yet, tells others that there is no Creator, will return to their senses and begin to appreciate the great things that our Creator has done on our behalf.

The “scientific establishment” has gone down for the count and I don’t see an easy road to recovery for those who have signed oaths against “creationism” and “intelligent design” and anything that questions Darwin’s creation stories.

But, this presents those of us who accept and embrace the reality of a created universe, with a great opportunity to start fresh with a purely humble and respectful perspective on the study of “nature”. How did the Creator make everything so that it works together so wonderfully despite the huge diversity of living things should remind us constantly that He is the only true personification of “brilliance”! Though we may advance in our very crude basic knowledge of some small aspects of the physical, visible universe and living things, we must always remind ourselves that we’ve only scratched the surface of the hows and whys.

Nature was designed for our benefit as not only a support system for mankind, but also as a great educational system to help us grow and mature as people. We don’t need any special credentials or training to be involved. Just an open mind and heart!

Wayne Hollyoak

The complete failure of “science” to help us gain an understanding of the basic reality of the “universe” and living things has left those of us who accept the reality of our existence as created beings with the question of whether it is worth the effort to try to breathe life back into “science” or let it continue to smolder in its grave. Why not just move on and enjoy studying this wonderful creation in a more practical, respectful, humble and productive way?

Do we really need to decode all the genomes out there, or how important is it that we put men on Mars? Who cares what’s at the core of the atom? Aren’t these sorts of pursuits intended to conquer all the mysteries of creation rather than enjoy and appreciate them. Even some “creationists” get caught up in this be trying to prove the age of the earth, or insist that the great flood happened a certain way according to their interpretation of the existing documents. Genesis is an abstract in a sense and the details of the whole story are not available to us. We can guess based on clues in the ground, but I am quite sure that the details of those events will continue to elude us.

Creation Studies need not worry about solving every mystery because it acknowledges the fact that the Mind behind them is way beyond us. Once we think we’ve figured it out, we show ourselves to be ignorant of our own limitations.

Wayne Hollyoak

Science has become obsessed with these strange things we call, “black holes”. But, black holes as impressive as they are in their ability to suck in and swallow stars and galaxies, they are no match for the ways that “science” sucks. “Science” is like a dead star that instead of giving light to us it is now only sucking the light out of us. Has “science” died?

The answer is simple. Yes. Why? Because it no longer honors our Creator, and so it no longer has any foundation in reality. It really has become an entirely vain exercise. We have all these wonderful tools at our disposal with which we can study the Creator’s universe. Telescopes, space probes, microscopes, cameras, aircraft and so on to help us explore and learn more about all this wonderful creation, but without a solid foundation in the basic realities of our existence, what good is it all? Nada.

If you aren’t even allowed to give any form of credit to the Creator for all He has accomplished, it’s time to give it the ole “heave ho”.

Those of us who still openly acknowledge the fact of our creation would do well to distance ourselves from the “scientific establishment”. I’d suggest a new name for our quest to learn about nature and the universe, “creation studies”. Just like the reformation’s move to dump Latin for plain English.

“Science” is kind of “duh” word. If you want to say “knowledge” why not just say it in English. But saying, “knowledge” would sound awfully vague! They can have their, “spontaneous generation studies” if they want and give it the name “science”. But, what good is it if it has no context in the reality of how the universe actually came into existence as well as everything in it.

Wayne Hollyoak

Just what is science? What can it do for us? What can we do for it?

At the most basic level, “science” is just a word. Seven letters that represent the latin word, “scientia” meaning, “knowledge”. Words are symbols for concepts. They help us communicate concepts. Things which help us share our thoughts, ideas, wishes, emotions, etc. with others. So, if “science” is a word or symbol that represents the concept of “knowledge”, then it is a fairly useful one. Especially if you see “knowledge” as a harvest of “responsible study” and a possible basis for “understanding”. In a practical sense, you could substitute the word, “knowledge” for “science” and maintain the original meaning. But, “science” has been transformed into something very different over the years. Today it is a symbol for an elite intellectual subculture. To become a member of what I call the, “scientific establishment” you generally need an “advanced degree” from a respected graduate school and be employed in your particular field of study.

So, “science” has become something quite different in modern times. In seeking to redefine itself, “science” has left much of it’s emphasis on “knowledge” behind. Nowadays the focus is more on, “methods” and “expertise”. If you have some knowledge that you want to share, you must back it up with objective proofs such as experimental tests. But, if you are deemed an “expert” you can bypass that step and just assert yourself and your ideas pretty much however you like, well within reason anyway.

So “science” has become a rather well defined “box” of “controllable and testable” theories about stuff. Which means that only a small minute portion of reality may become better understood using it. Anything that is “uncontrollable and untestable” is considered “unscientific”. This means that science has become completely stuck on itself, a control freak that wants the rest of the world to submit to its way of seeing the universe and everything in it.

All that to say that there are many mysteries in the universe and to life that aren’t subject to human manipulation and analysis. The occurrence of “coincidence”, a song bird sings happily to cheer you up on a really bad day, snow covering a forest somehow warms the heart, you “bump” into an old friend you haven’t seen in years at a remote place neither of you have been before an earthquake occurs the moment a gentle carpenter dies while nailed to a cross by jealous clerics, a sea parts as a shepherd raises his staff. Once in a while we are reminded of greater realities that exist, those that the self-absorbed “scientific establishment” chooses to ignore.

If you really want to understand yourself and the world around you, go to the Source. I’ve found that as I trust my Creator and learn from His book, the Bible, I’ve gained something that completely eludes “science”. That is the meaning and purpose of my life as well as life in general, and the universe we live in. This Source came to earth as Jesus of Nazareth two thousand years ago to release mankind from its prison of pride and hatred and ignorance.

Without a strong foundation in the Bible and a confidence in its teachings, there is no real context for any “scientific” pursuit whatsoever. The Bible makes it clear that, “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. What is “wisdom” but “knowledge” in context of reality. I had to read through the Bible 3 times while carefully considering it’s teaching and sharing with the Creator my questions and need for help in understanding it before a pretty clear picture of what “faith in Christ” really means. There are so many ‘man made’ Jesus’ out there that have little or no resemblance to the real Jesus and it’s so important to distinguish them from the real McCoy.

Science that ignores the Source is a waste of time. Science that acknowledges and embraces the true Source can be a valuable tool for mankind. Even as grossly limited as it is. As a Christian, I realize the “expertise” is a myth. There is only one “Expert” and if we don’t learn from Him, we can never know beans!
